Selling: Frequently asked questions

Thinking about selling your LEGO® collection to us? Here's everything you need to know.

How it works

How do I sell my LEGO® sets to WeBuyBricks?

Selling your LEGO® sets to WeBuyBricks takes just a few simple steps:

  1. Select set selling: start your selling basket and select 'sell a LEGO® set' as your method.
  2. Get an instant quote: enter your set name or number, condition and minifigure count on our site.
  3. Accept the offer: if you're happy with the valuation, head to checkout to confirm the sale.
  4. Package your LEGO® sets: follow our packaging guidelines to box it up safely.
  5. Send it to us: book a free home collection or drop your parcel off.
  6. We inspect: our team checks your set within 24 hours of arrival.
  7. Get paid: we transfer your payment the day after we receive your items.

From boxing up to cash in hand, you could be paid in as little as 3 days. If we can’t buy your set, we’ll give you the option to sell it to us by weight instead. See how it works →

What details will you ask for when I sell my LEGO® set?

To give you an instant quote, we'll ask for three things: the set name or number (5-7 digits, usually on the box or instructions), the number of minifigures included, and the condition of the set. You'll choose from: brand new and sealed; used but complete; complete with some minifigures missing; or mostly complete (95%+ of pieces). Once you provide these details, you'll get a fast valuation.

How do I sell LEGO® bricks by weight?

Selling loose LEGO® bricks by weight is a fast way to turn unsorted or mixed LEGO® pieces into cash, without sorting by set or cataloguing individual pieces. Here's how it works:

  1. Start your selling basket and select 'sell by weight' as your method.
  2. Tell us the main theme of your LEGO® collection (e.g. Star Wars, City, Technic) so we can give you the most accurate valuation.
  3. Weigh your LEGO® bricks: pop them into a bag (or several smaller bags for greater accuracy) and weigh them on kitchen or bathroom scales, then enter the weight into the basket.
  4. Add the weight to your basket. Keep adding further LEGO® sets or weighed batches, or accept the offer once you're happy with the total.
  5. Checkout and ship: confirm the sale to receive a free, pre-paid shipping label, pack your LEGO® pieces securely according to our packaging guidelines, and send them to us. We pay out the day after your parcel arrives!

Loose LEGO® bricks are paid per kilogram, with price per kilo varying by theme. The more sought-after or valuable LEGO® themes may fetch a higher rate, so the theme you tell us matters as much as the weight itself. This makes selling by weight a quick option for bulk or mixed LEGO® collections without the need to identify every individual LEGO® set first. For the quickest turnaround, we recommend separating any built models into loose LEGO® bricks before weighing and shipping.

Do you offer a home collection service?

Yes, we offer free home collection on every order. A courier will pick up your parcels directly from your door. You choose the collection date at checkout, so there's no need to queue at a drop-off point or carry heavy boxes anywhere. For smaller parcels, you can also drop off at your nearest parcel shop if you prefer.

How should I package my LEGO® sets to sell?

Package your LEGO® sets securely in a sturdy box with plenty of padding to keep everything safe in transit. Pop all the bricks into sealed bags inside the set's own box (if you still have it), then cushion everything with bubble wrap, packing paper or newspaper.

If you're sending us more than one set, that's no problem at all. You're very welcome to put several sets in the same big box to save on postage. Just make sure each set is wrapped up individually first, so the sets stay separate and the pieces don't get mixed together along the way. Keeping them apart helps us check everything over quickly when your parcel arrives.

Our packaging guidelines walk you through every step with photos.

Top Tip: Please do NOT use brown tape or apply postage labels directly to the LEGO® box as this devalues the box and its contents.

Where do I get the shipping label?

Your free shipping label will be sent to you via email after you’ve checked out. You have the option to print at your local parcel shop or at home.

How long after accepting my offer do I have to ship my LEGO?

You should send your items within 7 days of acceptance of your offer. If we have not received the items within 21 days, the price offered may not be valid, and upon receipt, the amount paid may be adjusted by us to the current valuations.

What happens if you don't accept my LEGO® sets on arrival?

If your LEGO® sets arrive in a condition significantly different from what you described, our team will get in touch with you to discuss options. You can choose to accept a revised offer or have the items returned to you at your cost. We'll always explain our reasoning clearly and give you the chance to decide what happens next.

What we buy

What LEGO® sets do you buy?

We buy pretty much any LEGO® sets you've got, from current sets to retired classics, across every theme, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Technic, Architecture and more. We'll take sealed sets, used sets, complete sets, sets with a few missing pieces, loose bricks by the kilo, as long as they contain sets, minifigures and rare collectables. See our acceptance guidelines for full details.

Can I sell built LEGO® sets?

Yes, you can sell LEGO® sets that are already assembled. Just pack them carefully to prevent damage during shipping. We recommend disassembling larger sets into major sub-sections and bagging the pieces to avoid breakages in transit. Built sets are valued the same as used complete sets, provided all pieces are present.

Can I sell a LEGO® set if it's missing pieces?

Yes, we'll still make you an offer on LEGO® sets that are missing pieces. Just tell us the condition honestly when getting your quote. Choose from either "complete with some minifigures missing" or "mostly complete (95%+ of pieces)", and we'll adjust the price accordingly. Complete sets earn more, but incomplete sets still have real value.

Can I sell loose LEGO® bricks and complete sets?

You can absolutely sell loose LEGO® bricks to WeBuyBricks as well as complete sets in the same sale. We buy mixed bags, bulk collections, minifigures and rare individual pieces, all priced by weight. Whether you've got a few kilos from a childhood bedroom or a sofa's worth of random bricks, we'll take it off your hands for a fair price.

Do you buy LEGO® sets without the box?

Yes, we buy LEGO® sets without the original box. Boxes add value to a set, particularly for sealed or collector editions, but their absence doesn't disqualify a sale. You'll still get a competitive offer based on the set's completeness and condition.

Do you buy LEGO® DUPLO®?

Yes, we buy LEGO® DUPLO® sets. Just select DUPLO® when getting your quote.

Do you buy MEGA Bloks or other non-LEGO® bricks?

No, we only buy authentic LEGO® products. MEGA Bloks, Cobi, Lepin and other non-LEGO® brick brands aren't part of our buying range, and any non-LEGO® bricks mixed into a bulk collection will be removed before valuation. If you're unsure whether your bricks are genuine LEGO® bricks, they'll have the "LEGO" logo stamped on each stud.

Valuation, pricing & payment

How do you value my LEGO® set?

We value your LEGO® sets based on four key factors: the specific set (some are more in-demand than others), its condition, how many minifigures are included, and whether it's still in production or retired. Rare, retired and sealed sets generally fetch higher prices, and completeness always matters. Loose bricks are valued by weight at a set price per kilogram.

How much do LEGO® sets sell for?

The value of a LEGO® collection varies hugely depending on what you own. Rare and retired sets can be worth hundreds of pounds, while common modern sets and bulk loose bricks sell for less. For loose LEGO® bricks, we offer a set price per kilogram, so the more you have, the more you earn. Get an instant valuation by entering your details on our site.

Why is your offer lower than eBay listings?

eBay asking prices are not always the same as sold prices, and many listed sets sit unsold for months, and then the final sold price is often significantly lower than the listing. Our offer reflects what sets actually sell for, minus eBay fees, PayPal fees, packaging and shipping costs, plus checking, cleaning and sorting. In exchange, you get a guaranteed price, free collection, no fees, no buyer disputes and payment within a day of receipt.

Are rare or retired LEGO® sets worth more?

Yes, rare and retired LEGO® sets are usually worth significantly more than current ones. Once a set is retired by The LEGO® Group, supply dries up, and demand often increases, driving the resale price upwards. Limited editions, exclusive sets and those with sought-after minifigures can be particularly valuable.

How will I get paid for my LEGO® sale?

We pay you the day after we receive your items, provided everything matches the condition you described. Payment is sent directly to your bank account by bank transfer, using the details you provided at checkout, and funds typically appear within 1-2 working days. From your LEGO® sets arriving at our warehouse to cash landing in your account, the whole process usually takes as little as 3 days.
