The Best LEGO® Marvel Sets of All Time

Header.jpg

If you're anything like us at WeBuyBricks, the combo of Marvel action and LEGO® building is a match made in superhero heaven! Whether you're building your dream Avengers HQ, swinging through the streets of New York with Spider-Man, or gearing up for battle in Wakanda, the LEGO® Marvel universe has something for every kind of fan. And we’re not just talking as casual collectors here… we’ve seen, built, and talked about these sets non-stop, so this guide is based on real experience and brick-built obsession.

This guide is your go-to for the best LEGO® Marvel sets ever released. We'll share our personal favourites, chat about sets that wow both kids and adults, and show you how to get your hands on second-hand gems (or sell your own). Let’s dive in.

A Quick Look at LEGO® Marvel History

Before we get into our favourite sets, we thought we’d share a bit about how, why and when LEGO® Marvel came to be.

The LEGO® Marvel theme first swooped onto the scene in 2012, coinciding with the Avengers assembling on the big screen. But before that, Spider-Man had his own short-lived LEGO® wave in the early 2000s. Once the full Marvel lineup landed, we were treated to iconic sets featuring Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and later, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange.

Over time, LEGO® Marvel sets have become more detailed and diverse, ranging from massive display pieces to playful builds for kids. With Marvel constantly introducing new heroes and saying goodbye to old favourites, many classic LEGO® Marvel sets have now retired and can only be found second-hand, which makes them more valuable than ever.

Our Top 10 LEGO® Marvel Sets

Chosen by the WeBuyBricks team - a bunch of Marvel nerds who love building, displaying, and talking about LEGO® bricks more than we probably should.

1. The Daily Bugle (76178)

1. The Daily Bugle (76178).jpg

If you love Spider-Man, this set is an absolute must. With 3,772 pieces and over 25 minifigures (including some rare ones you’ll struggle to find elsewhere), the Daily Bugle towers above most Marvel sets – literally. It’s got brilliant comic book energy, loads of scenes built into the floors, and enough visual drama to make it a true showpiece. When we built this as a team, it felt like we were assembling a whole city story in one vertical build. Honestly, this one’s just plain fun and impossible to ignore on display.

2. The Infinity Gauntlet (76191)

2. The Infinity Gauntlet (76191).jpg

Small but mighty, this 590-piece set is one of our favourite bite-sized builds. Whether you’re a casual Marvel fan or deep in your MCU rewatch, this shiny gold glove is immediately recognisable and ridiculously satisfying to build. The fact that the fingers are posable is a fun bonus. We think this makes a great gift for adults, especially those who want something cool for their desk without dedicating an entire shelf to bricks.

3. Hulkbuster (76210)

3. Hulkbuster (76210).jpg

This is a beast of a build, weighing in at over 4,000 pieces. It’s a serious undertaking and definitely not something to rush, but once it’s finished, you’ll feel a real sense of achievement.

This version of the Hulkbuster is impressively detailed, engineered like a mech-lover’s dream, and looks incredible on display. We took turns working on sections over a few days and it became one of our favourite group builds. Definitely one for those who like their LEGO® big and bold.

4. Sanctum Sanctorum (76218)

4. Sanctum Sanctorum (76218).jpg

Doctor Strange’s iconic HQ got the LEGO® modular treatment, and we couldn’t be happier. With 2,708 pieces, this set is packed with character and clever architecture. It fits in perfectly with a LEGO® city layout, but it also works brilliantly as a standalone build for collectors. If you love intricate interiors, magical details, and a touch of the supernatural, this one will absolutely deliver.

5. Guardians of the Galaxy Ship – The Benatar (76193)

5. Guardians of the Galaxy Ship – The Benatar (76193).jpg

This set hits a sweet spot - it’s not huge, but it’s super satisfying to build and even better to display. With just under 1,000 pieces, it brings together everyone’s favourite space crew and does justice to the Benatar’s sleek, orange design. We especially love how sturdy it is! You can actually pick it up without fear, and the cockpit area is one of the best we’ve seen in a Marvel build.

6. Avengers Tower (76269)

6. Avengers Tower (76269).jpg

The Avengers Tower is the biggest LEGO® Marvel set ever made, and it lives up to every bit of hype. With a whopping 5,201 pieces and 31 minifigures, this set is pure MCU celebration. It’s packed with references to key Avengers moments and is so tall and detailed that it practically demands its own shelf. We made a weekend of this one, and the final build is nothing short of epic. If you’re a fan of the films, this is like owning a piece of the saga.

7. Black Panther Bust (76215)

7. Black Panther Bust (76215).jpg

Striking and sculptural, this 2,961-piece build is one of the most unique Marvel sets out there. It’s more of an artistic piece than a playset – think museum-style tribute. We loved the clever building techniques that bring the contours of the mask and necklace to life. It’s also a surprisingly emotional build, especially for fans of the character. If you're looking for a bold, powerful display piece, this one is seriously impressive.

8. Iron Man Armory (76216)

8. Iron Man Armory (76216).jpg

This is the dream setup for any Tony Stark fan. While it’s a smaller build with under 500 pieces, the modular layout and minifig selection make it a standout for us. It’s perfect for showing off Iron Man’s various suits and works really well with other Marvel sets. We've got ours slotted next to the Hulkbuster and it’s become a mini hall of armour on its own. Great for anyone who wants to start a collection or expand an existing one.

9. Thor’s Hammer – Mjölnir (76209)

9. Thor’s Hammer – Mjölnir (76209).jpg

We didn't expect to love this one as much as we do. It’s simple but seriously cool. With just under 1,000 pieces, this replica of Mjölnir looks fantastic and even includes a hidden storage compartment with a few surprises. It’s easy to build, easy to display, and it just feels good in your hands. And yes, of course we all tried lifting it with our best Thor impressions!

10. Endgame Final Battle (76266)

10. Endgame Final Battle (76266).jpg

This set hits that perfect balance between fun and fan service. It’s a mid-sized set with a great cast of characters, iconic accessories, and just enough build complexity to keep things interesting. Whether you’re posing figures for a battle scene or just want a compact display that nods to one of the MCU’s biggest moments, this is a brilliant addition to any collection.

Retired LEGO® Marvel Sets Worth Knowing About

Retired LEGO® Marvel Sets Worth Knowing About.jpg

Just because a set’s no longer sold new doesn’t mean it’s out of reach. In fact, some of the most iconic LEGO® Marvel sets have been retired, and that’s where buying second-hand really shines.

Whether you're after a missing piece in your collection or just discovered a set you love, second-hand is often the only way to snag these builds. At WeBuyBricks, we’ve seen loads of rare Marvel sets pass through our hands, and we love helping fans reconnect with hard-to-find favourites.

Some retired gems that are totally worth tracking down:

  • The SHIELD Helicarrier (76042): An absolute beast of a set that’s become legendary among Marvel collectors.
  • Spider-Man Bridge Battle (76057): A dynamic, beautifully designed set that captures the chaos of a classic - Spider-Man showdown.
  • The Milano Spaceship Rescue (76021): The OG Guardians ship, now replaced by the Benatar, but still a fan favourite.
  • Iron Man Hall of Armour (76125): While it’s been reimagined a few times, the original version is still a must-have for Tony Stark fans.
